Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore proudly hosted the inauguration ceremony of the Day Care Center, College Canteen, Chess Club, and Karate Club.

The event was honored by the presence of the Worthy Special Secretary, Higher Education Department, Govt. of the Punjab, Mr. Tajammal Abbas Rana, as the Chief Guest. DPI Colleges Punjab, Prof. Dr. Syed Ansar Azhar, and Mr. Ahsan Mukhtar, Director Colleges, Lahore Division, also graced the occasion.

The honorable guests were warmly welcomed by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Shahida Sohail, along with , students and college staff. Children and students presented bouquet to the chief guest, followed by cake cutting at the Day Care Center, where the honorable guests also distributed gifts among the children, creating a joyful and memorable atmosphere.

The Principal briefed the guests about the vision, facilities, and objectives of the Day Care Center (sponsored by the Women Development Department, under special initiative of the Chief Minister, Punjab), Chess Club, and Karate Club, highlighting their importance for students’ holistic development and a supportive learning environment.

Honorable Special Secretary, HED, appreciated the leadership and visionary efforts of Principal Prof. Dr. Shahida Sohail in introducing these student- and staff-friendly initiatives. He also ensured his continuous support for the betterment of college. On this occasion, Chief Guest also planted a plant in college ground. In the end, the Principal and staff presented a commemorative shield to the Worthy Special Secretary, HED.
